Washing your car in winter? Check out our tips.
Part
Winter weather often leaves its mark on your car. Road salt, brine and mud stick to the paintwork and can damage it if you do not intervene quickly. Fortunately, this is easy to prevent! With these tips, you can ensure that your car stays clean and is well protected against the winter influences.
Our pro tips!
Start with the rims.
This prevents dirt from the rims from ending up on the clean paint.
Rinse your car thoroughly.
Rinse the car thoroughly to remove all residues such as dirt and salt. Don't forget the wheel arches and the underside of the car! A good rinse is an important first step before you start washing the car.
Use car shampoo.
Never wash your car with Dreft, this is too aggressive for your car paint. Use a good car shampoo such as our Power Shampoo. Use the 2-bucket method, one bucket with soapy water and one with clean rinse water. Rinse your wash glove in the rinse bucket after each panel. This prevents dirt and salt from being spread over the paint again during washing.
Work from top to bottom.
Start with the roof and work your way down. The underside of the car is usually the dirtiest, so you avoid dragging dirt to clean areas. This reduces the chance of scratches and makes for a more efficient wash.
Dry the car.
Use the drying cloth XL to dry the car. This not only prevents water stains, but also ensures that your doors and rubbers do not freeze after washing in the winter months. 😉
Protect your car.
After washing, you can apply the Ceramic Spray Wax. This provides a water and dirt repellent effect, making the car easier to clean next time. It also gives the paint a deep shine and offers extra protection against road salt.
